CAS on Sunday - Black, White & One Color

Wow, can you believe it---it's already the end of June!

We have another challenge starting today over at CAS on Sunday.  Our theme for this challenge is Black, White and One Color!  Lots of great choices for this challenge...can't wait to see what you come up with!

Here's my take on the challenge....

Okay, there is nothing cuter than a little monster!  This guys is particularly cute because he is a bit round :)  I've had this stamp set for awhile, but haven't used this little guy!

I simply started by stamping and coloring him with copics.  I then stamped my splatters on the background, and added the sentiment.

I added a few black sequins and popped up my image on foam tape.

Less is More - Stencil

Another fun challenge is starting today over at Less is More!  This week our code word is Stencil!

So many fun options with this code word.  I was torn between doing something inky or using molding paste!  Hope you have time to come on over and play along!

Here's my take on the challenge!

I started by using my newest stencil with my favorite distress ink colors.

I then stamped and cut my main image and colored him with copic markers.

I added a few splatters (with my stamp--I do like control :))  Then added my sentiment!

I enjoyed making this card, that I ended up making another one with similar colors and theme...

Same idea for this card, only instead of the black splatters, I adhered some stars to add a bit of sparkle.

Addicted to CAS - Fly

Time for another fun challenge over at Addicted to CAS!  Hope you have time to join in, you will have the opportunity to win a gift certificate to one of my favorite shops...Create a Smile.  They have so many fun stamps!

Our theme for this challenge is Fly!  Lots of ways to go with this one.  I thought I would focus on a card for my friend Hatsumi, who is soon embarking on a journey back to Japan.  I'm hoping she will be back sometime soon!

I started by stamping the plane and coloring it with copic markers.  I then masked it off and sponged in the clouds.

Once that was complete I cut down the image with a rectangle die, then used the inlaid die technique to add it to my card base.  I then stamped a few hearts on the frame and colored them with copics!

Supplies:
  • Neenah Solar White Card Stock
  • Lawn Fawn:  Bon Voyage, Puffy Cloud Borders, Bee Mine
  • Distressed Ink:  Salty Ocean
  • Copics
  • Versafine Onyx Black Ink
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink

Tag You're It Challenge #50

We have a new challenge starting over at Tag You're It.  Come on over and play along, you have a chance to win an opportunity to be a guest designer!

Here is the fun inspiration tag designed by Kelly Szafron.  This is a terrific tag using some lovely heat embossing---which happens to be one of my favorite techniques!

Here's my take on the challenge.  For this challenge, I focused my efforts on the heat embossing!

Since I do not have any fruit tags, I focused on the heat embossing.

I started by stamping my images using Versafine Pigment ink, then dusted them with clear embossing powder.

Once completed, I using my distress inks to watercolor the flowers.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Less is More - Faux Bleach

We are in for a bit of a warm weekend...so a few tennis matches in the heat :(

We are starting a new challenge over at Less is More today.  The theme for this week is Faux Bleach. This one was hard for me.  I had to try many different ways to get this to work.  It finally came together in the end...here is what I came up with.  Looking forward to seeing your design, hope you can come and join us.

I created my faux bleach pattern on a small stipe of card stock.

I then stamped and heat embossed my sentiment on a larger panel. I added a thin strip of glitter paper at the bottom of the larger panel and popped it up on some foam tape.

It looks a little too plan so I added a heart that I cut from the same glitter paper that I used before.

MarkerPop Challenge - Summer

There is a fun challenge over at Markerpop and I have a few minutes to enter before I head off to the gym.  The husband is feeling a little under the weather, so we are cancelling our tennis practice. Hopefully he will feel better soon!!!

The theme for the challenge is Summertime...and the inspiration is amazing.  I took a bit of a different take on the theme and went for the beach.

Here's my take on the challenge...

I started by inking up the sand, then the sky.  I then stamped and colored my images with copic markers.

I used the inlaid die technique to put the penguin and the tree in the scene--then stamped my sentiment one the bottom.

CAS on Sunday - Butterfly

Another beautiful day on the court with the husband.  Wow...he wore me out!  Lots of great rallying and hard hitting!  Thanks for the practice!

We have another fun challenge starting today at CAS on Sunday.  The theme for this challenge is Butterfly.  I was a bit worried about this one, since I don't really have lots of butterfly stamps, but I looked around and found one.

Here's my take on the challenge.  Let's see what you come up with!

This is a simple card where I used my one butterfly stamp and stamped it with rainbow colors.  I then added a little bit of black card stock and foam tape to make the panel pop. Then simply stamped the sentiment.
