CAS on Sunday - Sparkle/Bling

A bit of a heat wave here, just getting ready for the summer.  The new room is coming together with a few pieces of furniture already in place.  Now it is the moving in time....

We have another challenge over at CAS on Sunday.  Our theme for this challenge is Sparkle or Bling. What a fun challenge, so many different ways to go with this one.  Hope you come on over and play along!

Here's my take on the challenge, can't want to see what you come up with...

My friend Claudia is getting married and this card was made for her.

I started by stamping the wedding cake and coloring it with copics.  I then stamped some hearts around the cake and added some sparkle around the hearts...little stars and circles.

I then added a bit more sparkle to the sentiment at the bottom.  I have been using a lot of inlaid die technique for a smooth surface!

Less is More - Sketch

It's been a busy week, but hopefully the long weekend will be a bit relaxing!  New dishwasher is installed and wow, technology has changed over the last 10 years, this one is really quiet!  Thanks husband!

Today we have a new challenge over at Less is More!  It is time for a sketch!  Always loves these challenges!  Here's the sketch---looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Here's my take on the challenge....

I know that we are a bit early from Christmas, but I couldn't resist!  This was such a fun card to make---and pretty simple as well.

I stamped and colored my elf with Copic Markers.  Added the little sentiment, and then cut the red cardstock.  I added a few silver stars to the white space as it was a bit too empty!

Addicted to CAS - Pedals

Busy week this week...finished painting the room and the furniture was delivered...life is good!  In addition, a bit of visiting with friends and lots of tennis!

We have another challenge starting today over at Addicted to CAS. This week the theme is Pedals...so fun and lots of options here.

Hope you can join us, there is a chance to win a gift certificate to QKR Stampede!

Here's my take on the challenge!

For this card, I heat embossed the main image on watercolor paper with white embossing powder. I used distress ink to watercolor the flower. Then matted the image on cardstock and popped it up on foam tape.

As a final step, I added the sentiment below the image.

Tag You're It Challenge - Patriotic

The new furniture will be delivered today...yeah, after three weeks of waiting I'm excited.  Thanks husband for letting me go nuts on this room....I'm loving it!

There is a new challenge starting today at Tag You're It.  Just in time for Memorial Weekend here in the US.  Come on a join us.  Here's the inspiration tag from Bobby Hagan!

Here's my take on the challenge...

I started by masking off a portion of the tag and sponging some red distressed ink using my stencil. Once the strips were done, I masked off that portion of the tag and stamped some stars with versafine ink.  I embossed the stars, then sponged on the blue ink.

Then simply stamped my sentiment on the bottom.

A simple tag in memory of all the incredible people around the globe that make our every day better!

Less is More - Pops or Bangs

It's been a beautiful week.  I feel much better this week, and have been playing tennis with the husband.  We've had some great practice on the brand new courts---so life is good!

There is another challenge starting today over at Less is More.  This one is guaranteed to knock your socks off...the theme is "Something that Pops or Bangs".  You can go so many fun ways with this challenge, we could do this theme for weeks!

Here's my take on the theme, looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I simply stamped my mad scientist on white card stock.  I then masked off his hand and stamped the balloon.

I colored the images with copic markers added a bit of wink of stella to the balloon...and done!

Simple card, for my nephew's birthday!

CAS on Sunday #83 - Color Challenge

Wow, it has been a crazy week.  I've been a bit under the weather, and my wonderful husband did a great job in taking good care of me.  Thanks husband!!

Then I heard some bad news from my friend Diane.  Her brother passed away, while not a surprise, I don't think one is ever prepared for the actual day.

I decided to combine my CAS on Sunday Color Challenge with a Sympathy card for her.

Here's my card...

I started my using my new Simon Say Stamps on a strip of card stock. I just stamped a few flowers using the colors in the challenge.

Then added a bit of paper to the back and popped it on foam tape. Then stamped the sentiment.

This is a super quick stamping job, yet it looks like it too a long time to complete.

Here are the colors for the challenge...you need to use at least three.

Hope you choose to play along.  We would love to see what you come up with.

Thanks for stopping by!

Addicted to CAS - Midnight

It's been a busy week, picking out paint colors, slowly painting the room....it's looking nice and almost there!  Thanks husband for all of your work in getting this room to be the perfect place for me!!

Another challenge starting at Addicted to CAS!  The theme for this challenge is Midnight.  This is the perfect theme because there is a technique I've seen on several cards and have been wanting to try it out.  So here is goes...let me know what you think!

Come on over and play along!  We would love to see what you come up with.

I started by masking off the background of the card for the moon and adding some distressed ink. Once the moon was done, I masked that off and sponged on the dark blue for the dark sky.  I used several colors to ensure the ring around the moon was a bit lighter than the rest of the sky.

I then cut out the tree and then embossed the sentiment at the bottom.

Next time I'll make the moon a bit more white...might look a little sunny :)
